Break Bulk / Out Of Gauge Survey
We attend as an independent party to determine the cargo condition on arrival at the port for loading or discharge. We document the loading/discharge process and produce a true and accurate chronological report. The securing and adequate supporting of your specialist cargo is our utmost priority. We can ensure your cargo, be it a new yacht, car or generator unit, is lifted (if required) with the adequate lifting gear of suitable Safe Working Load (SWL), supported correctly on the intended stowage and secured in line with the IMO Regulations for the Safe Stowage and Securing of Cargoes.
Containerised Cargo Survey
Stuffing and unloading inspections conducted. This typically involves internal and external inspection of the container, verification of correct packaging, labels and cargo quantities. Inspection of stuffing process, cargo securing and container sealing. Inspection of seal and container condition prior to unloading. In cases of damage, we inspect the condition of the cargo to ascertain what percentage of the total cargo is damaged, cause of the damage and evaluate the loss.
Loadmaster Superintendency
Planing and execution of unique and challenging break bulk and out of gauge cargo loadings. Organisation and rigging of lifting gear, cargo supporting and securing materials and orchestration of all parties to safely and effectively complete loadings, usually limited by strict shipping schedules.
Dangerous Goods Inspection
We regularly inspect containers of dangerous goods from various shipping lines. Inspection for damage, correct labelling and stuffing, access and assess container condition. We typically inspect a random selection of containers prior to shipment and damaged or failed containers requiring examination.
Damage Survey
When cargoes had been damaged in transit, it is necessary to estimate the extent of damage and where possible to establish the cause of damage for any claim for compensation. We undertake instructions behalf of insurers, cargo owners and shipping agents.
Produce Inspection
Establish produce condition, usually in the event of damage or unsuitable transport conditions. Ascertain the degree of damage or loss, collect reports from involved parties along with container temperature data to identify a cause and evaluate losses.
